Diabetes is a condition where the body cannot produce insulin, or does not produce enough insulin, or where your insulin does not work properly .Insulin helps your body use the glucose (sugar) in your blood to give you energy; because if you do not have the right amount of insulin in your body, or if the insulin in your body is not being utilized and working properly, your blood glucose (sugar) will remain high which can lead to other complications and can make you quite ill.
